How it works

Numbers are drawn straight onto each page on your device; nothing is uploaded. Pages that are stored sideways, which is common in scans, still get their number upright and where you asked for it.

Starting at a number other than 1 is useful when the file is a chapter of something longer. The "1 of 9" format counts to the last number, so a file of five pages starting at 10 runs from "10 of 14" to "14 of 14".
